Overview
The Evil Within 2's native '21:9 support' is really just the 16:9 frame with top and bottom cropped rather than true horizontal expansion, so 32:9 players don't gain extra peripheral view. Real-time cutscenes revert to 16:9 with black bars regardless, and pre-rendered cutscenes stay pillarboxed even with the community fix applied. The WSGF trainer (v1.05) removes bars from real-time cutscenes and reportedly extends up to 48:9, but it's a third-party trainer, not an official patch.

Not working
Native resolution selection doesn't produce a true widescreen view — same horizontal FOV as 16:9, just cropped top/bottom.

Verified via Steam Community threads and WSGF forum — confirmed native '21:9 support' is a vertical crop rather than true widescreen expansion; the FWS repo's 'TheEvilWithin' module belongs to the original 2014 game, not this sequel.
