Overview

Actual gameplay in Alan Wake 2 is genuinely native ultrawide — both 21:9 and 32:9 render hor+ correctly with no stretching. The catch is cutscenes: pre-rendered FMV sequences are pillarboxed to 16:9 no matter what, and in-engine cutscenes are also pillarboxed by default, though those can be unlocked with a renderer.ini edit. On a 32:9 setup expect excellent gameplay but frequent black bars whenever the story cuts to a cinematic.

Flawless WidescreenActively maintained plugin (4 revisions, latest patch support) — may handle cutscenes more completely than the manual ini edit above. Worth trying first if you already use FWS for other games.
